P@ Perry

Pat Perry is an exceptional, young graphic artist from Grand Rapids/Comstock Park, Michigan. I originally found his artwork at my buddy’s coffeeshop Dillenbecks in the West Fulton area about a year ago. Today, he continues to create amazing personal pieces, and I believe he’s recently begun working for Spearia, a local web-design and marketing startup. He also has submitted an entry for Artprize, and you can see it hanging on the side (see install here) of the JW Marriot in Downtown Grand Rapids. Enjoy his output below..

Diggin’ on GVSU Shooting

I guess this news of the GVSU student who was shot by a county sheriff is bigger news than I even addressed in my previous post. According to Digg users, it is currently the second most important bit of news currently circulating the internet.

The news article was ‘dug’ by more than 1500 viewers, making it the sit at the top of “Top News of All Topics” section.

Bad News = More Coverage

Using Trendrr, a web app I’ve mentioned previously, I’ve been tracking the number of news articles indexed by Google News for the search term “grand valley state university“, my Alma Mater.

Upon recently checking up on the graph, not to my surprise over the past week, news article have spiked like crazy in light of the recent shooting that took place in one of the campus apartments.
